Hobbies, et al...

Many have asked, so I will provide a little insight. So exactly what do I do normally? Well with work getting the "best" of me,
leisure is something that merely fits in where it can. Despite that, I still have time to enjoy some of my worldly possessions (ie. stuff.)

Car
Well I have a 2004 Mini Cooper S. I never imagined myself owning a Cooper, the drive is whats it's all about... Style Too... Previous cool car 2002 Vette

My Cooper S

She is fairly well equipped, including neat things like skid control, HID Xenon headlamps, dimming mirror, and heated leather seats...
Will she stay stock? In many respects, but I plan on an Alta Intake, XM radio Direct kit, Mini-Fini armrest, South Africa vanity plate, upgraded H7 high-beams, and possible Webb Motorsports ECU remap...
Auto
Racing
Ok, I'll admit it. I'm a speed "freak" if it goes fast, it's all good with me. I hope to eventually get into some form of auto-racing. SCCA Pro-Rally looks like the obvious choice, but FIA WRC is better. Only time will tell I guess... For now, I enjoy SCCA Pro-Rally races, FIA World Rally, Dakar, and GT racing...

Muzik
Perhaps the pulsating beats of electrons moving thru a circuit borard, the completion of an electrical path. All technology based, hence my interest in electronic music. Still in the process of spinning as a hobby, maybe it will get big, maybe not. "The stuff we've been doing lately is more repetitive, it just gets a groove going"- Richie Hawtin

Audio
&
Video
Whats wrong with a little entertainment? I recently got into home theatre, DVD's have really catapulted theatre quality into the home. My setup is as follows:
Onkyo TX-DS575 Reciever (70wX5), Sony CDP-145 CD Player, Sony Cassette Player, Infinity SM110 Speakers, Infinity SM Center Channel, Bose 4.2 Surrounds, Sony 30w Powered Subwoofer (from satellite system), Phillips/Magnavox 27" TV, PlayStation2 DVD player (using S-video and optical/digital output connectors), Panasonic H4 "HI-FI" VCR.
At some moment, I may get a new TV (HD- Plasma 32" or greater), but that is low on the list of things to spend $$$ on...
Here's the setup for now:

Travel
Been there, done that? Well not entirely. But I have seen a fair amount of places. I lived in Europe for 4 months in 2002, I want to move back. That's where my feeling is, my place. The U.S., in many respects, bores me... The list of places begins in the U.S... Hawaii, San Francisco, Boston, NYC, all around Michigan, Chicago, Albuquerque, New Orleans, Birmingham (AL), Seattle, L.A., Charleston (WV), Florida...
...and it continues into Europe. I lived in Antwerp, Belgium. Denmark, Sweden, U.K., Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, France, and Poland...
...and the Friendly place, South Africa... I am going to Thailand and Japan in March for vacation. but where next??? Brazil, China, Middle East???

Biking
I'm still relatively new at the mountain bike scene, but it is a whole ton of fun. I purchased a bike worthy of off-roading, as my Raleigh Traverse was nearing the end of it's life. I have a Specialized StumpJumper M2 Comp. For now, a stock setup (with the exception of the seat). I might put on new handle-bars eventually, but otherwise it fits the bill quite nicely. When I get the chance, I enjoy biking at the Michigan Tech trails, Pontiac Lake, Maui Hawaii, (when I'm there) and urban trekking. Pictures of me on the trails are coming soon- I just have to find a camera that can take quite a few bumps easily!
